HeadLamp 325

The BioLite HeadLamp 325 is a light, rechargeable head torch built to be comfortable first. BioLite put the electronics into the band itself instead of hanging a battery box off your forehead, so the whole thing weighs 50 g and moves with your head rather than against it.

Who it's for

Anyone who wants one easy head torch for camp, the bush and around the house: a night walk to the lookout, cooking in the dark at a Lamington campsite, reading in a hammock, or a kid's first overnight hike. The easy-adjust clips slide to fit heads from children to adults, and the band is long enough to go over a helmet. The moisture-wicking fabric keeps your forehead drier on a warm Queensland evening.

Brightness and runtime together

The white spot tops out at 325 lumens and runs about 3 hours on high. Dim it right down and it runs for 40 hours, which covers a long weekend of camp jobs on one charge. Brightness memory brings it back on at the level you last used, instead of full power in your tentmate's face.

Beam shape

The main lens is a spot that reaches 70 m, enough to pick up a track marker or the far side of a clearing. The white light is a clean, cool 6500 K. Alongside it is a red flood for keeping your night vision while you move around camp, and both colours dim and have a strobe mode. The front bezel tilts with one hand, so you aim the light down at your feet or out along the track without taking the band off.

Charging and battery

A 700 mAh lithium-ion battery is built into the band and charges through a micro-USB port. A micro-USB cord comes in the box, and a power bank or car charger will top it up between trips. Battery status shows as a green or red flash of the lens.

Weather resistance

The HeadLamp 325 is rated IPX4, so rain and sweat are fine. It is not made to go under water, so take it off before a swim.

Looking after it

Hand-wash the band with mild detergent or dish soap and water; a damp sponge along the inside of the band is enough to lift sweat and sunscreen. Use the lock mode before it goes in your pack so it does not switch itself on and arrive flat. A reflective strip at the back also helps drivers see you on a road walk.

Note: once opened, this headlamp cannot be returned or exchanged. Every unit ships sealed so you know it is untouched, and we cannot make exceptions for opened items.
