Description

The GameChanger 2.0 is Abus's aero road helmet, made in Italy and developed with professional riders. Built for speed on the road, where the shape of the shell is doing as much work as the ventilation.

Who it's for

Racers and fast group riders chasing watts. An aero helmet is one of the cheapest places to buy speed on a road bike - cheaper than wheels, far cheaper than a frame - and the GameChanger 2.0 is that argument developed in a wind tunnel and on the road with professional athletes, then made in Italy.

Fit and sizing

Abus's patented adjustment system dials the fit in, with ActiCage adding stability through the shell. Get this right in person if you can - an aero helmet depends on sitting at the angle it was tested at.

Ventilation and weight

260 g in small, 265 g in medium, 275 g in large - light for an aero shell, where the usual trade is that closing off vents adds mass. The AirBoost air inlet feeds a proper ventilation system, which is what decides whether an aero helmet is wearable in an Australian summer or something you only put on for a time trial.

The AeroBlade is the other half: a grid structure managing airflow across different speeds, yaw angles and head positions, rather than being optimised for one tunnel position and falling apart when you look up. The wider rear works with the overall shape to cut drag.

Rotational protection

Fit and stability are handled by the patented adjustment system and ActiCage, which keeps the helmet where it should be on your head.

Safety standard

Every bicycle helmet sold in Australia meets the mandatory standard, so this one does and so does every other helmet we stock. Fit, ventilation and - here - aerodynamics are what actually separate them.

Please note: this is a clearance line, priced below our own cost. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted on it, so check your sizing carefully before ordering.

FAQ's

How much does it weigh?
260 g in small, 265 g in medium and 275 g in large - light for an aero helmet, where closing off vents usually adds weight.

Will I overheat in it?
The AirBoost air inlet feeds the ventilation system specifically to address that, which is what makes an aero shell usable outside a time trial.

What does the AeroBlade actually do?
The AeroBlade manages airflow across varying speeds, side angles and head positions, so the helmet is not optimised for only one riding position.

Is it worth it if I'm not racing?
The aerodynamic gain scales with speed, so at social pace a lighter, more open road helmet is generally the better buy.

How does the fit adjust?
Through Abus's patented adjustment system, with ActiCage adding stability through the shell so it stays put.

Can I return it if I change my mind?
No. This is a clearance line selling below cost, and change-of-mind returns are not accepted. Check your sizing carefully.
