Full Frame Bag Medium

The Restrap Full Frame Bag Medium turns the empty space inside your frame into 7.5 litres of storage. Two zips give you a top and a bottom compartment, it weighs 340 g, and it is rated IP6K4.

Who it's for

Bikepackers and tourers who want the weight of tools, food and water off their back and out of their bar bag. A week on the Munda Biddi, a long weekend on the Great Victorian Rail Trail, or an overnighter into the Lamington hinterland: the frame bag carries the dense stuff while the bar and seat packs take the bulky sleep kit.

Fitting it to your bike

This is where returns come from, so measure first. The Medium is 460 mm along the top tube, 290 mm down the head tube side, 370 mm along the down tube, 145 mm across the bottom and 40 mm at the seat tube end, and 60 mm wide. Restrap make it to fit most standard frame shapes and geometries; if your front triangle is smaller, the Small is the one, and if it is bigger, the Large. A printable template from Restrap lets you hold the outline up to your frame before you ride. Check that your bottle cages still work with a bag in place, and protect the paint where the straps sit.

Capacity and what fits

7.5 litres is room for a tool roll, tube and pump, a day's food, or a soft flask. The drive side opens through two YKK Aquaguard zips onto separate top and bottom compartments. Internal velcro dividers keep the two apart and aid the bag's structure when it is packed full, then fold away when you want the whole space for one long item. A document pocket on the non-drive side holds smaller items such as a map, cash and cards, and a cable port lets a light or GPS lead run out of the bag.

Weatherproofing

The bag is rated IP6K4. The outer is textured nylon with TPX fabric, the zips are YKK Aquaguard, and the lower section wipes clean after a wet, muddy day. The bag also has reflective detailing.

Stability when loaded

Rubberised strapping grips the frame tubes, and webbing straps with cam-locking buckles keep it sitting securely and free of movement while riding.

Looking after it

Every Restrap bag is handmade in their Yorkshire workshop, finished with a vegan-friendly PU label, and covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Wipe it clean with a sponge, soapy water and a hose, the way you wash your bike.
