Frontier UL Collapsible Cup

The Sea to Summit Frontier UL Collapsible Cup is a camp cup with food-grade silicone walls between a rigid glass-reinforced nylon base, centre ring and rim. It weighs 53 g, stands 8.8 cm tall when open and folds to just 1.7 cm, so it fits a jacket pocket. It is dishwasher safe but stays out of the microwave.

What it is

A collapsible drinking cup for coffee, tea, soup or a nip of something by the fire, built to fold flat when you are done with it.

Who it's for

Walkers, bikepackers and paddlers who want a real cup in camp without a mug swinging off the pack. Pop it open for the first brew of the day on the Overland Track, drink, press it flat and slide it into a hip-belt pocket. It also earns a permanent spot in a day pack as the cup that is always there.

If you want a drink that stays hot for a long sit, a double-walled steel mug does that job better. The Frontier cup is for people who drink their coffee while it is hot and would rather carry the space than the weight.

Looking after it

Put it through the dishwasher at home, top rack for a light piece like this. Keep it out of the microwave: Sea to Summit lists its collapsible tableware as not microwave safe. At camp, rinse it with hot water and let it dry open before folding so the silicone folds stay clean.
