Description
The Dragonfly Footprint is Nemo's fitted groundsheet for the Dragonfly backpacking tent: a waterproof polyester footprint shaped to the tent floor, with clip-on webbing at the corners and a drawstring mesh pouch to carry it in.
What it does
It saves the floor of a tent you bought because it is light. The Dragonfly is the tent you take when every gram is counted, and a floor built that light deserves a layer between it and the ground: the gibber at a Larapinta campsite, the crushed rock of a hut tent pad, the she-oak needles and sticks under a coastal camp on the Great Ocean Walk.
The footprint takes that wear. It also keeps mud and damp off the underside of the tent, so on a wet morning you shake out one dirty sheet, bag it on its own, and roll up a tent that is still clean.
Because the footprint is cut to the tent's outline, it sits out of sight under the floor. Nothing hangs out past the fly to gather rain.
Which tents it fits
The Nemo Dragonfly, size for size: the 1 Person footprint under the one-person tent, the 2 Person under the two-person and the 3 Person under the three-person. The floor shape changes with each size, so buy the one that matches.

Webbing at each corner clips the footprint to the tent. That stops it sliding around under you and lets you pitch tent and footprint as one piece once it is attached.
Weight and packed size
The footprint folds down flat and lives in its own drawstring mesh pouch. The mesh breathes, so a footprint that went away damp gets a chance to dry on the walk out.
Looking after it
Shake or brush the grit off before folding, and dry it properly at home before it goes into the cupboard. Clear the obvious sticks and stones before you pitch and let the footprint deal with the rest.
