Disco (30°F / -1°C) Endless Promise Womens Sleeping Bag

The Disco is Nemo's down backpacking sleeping bag for women, rated to -1 C and cut in their Classic Spoon shape - wider at the elbows and knees so a side sleeper can roll over without fighting the bag. Part of the Endless Promise range, built to be sent back and recycled at the end of its life.

Who it's for

Women who sleep on their side and want room to do it. The Disco is cut wide at the elbows and knees, tapered where warmth matters, and built with extra insulation through the footbox and torso where women generally feel the cold first.

Comfortable to -1°C, this covers spring and autumn in the high country and most of the Australian year everywhere else.

Understanding the temperature rating

Two numbers matter, and the one to buy on is comfort. Comfort at -1°C is the temperature you stay warm through the night. Limit at -6°C is where a warm sleeper is curled up and holding on until morning. Plan your trips around the comfort figure and you will sleep; plan them around the limit and you will spend the night awake doing sums.

Both are ISO tested, so they compare directly against any other bag quoting the same standard - which makes them the only honest way to line two bags up against each other.

Shape and room

Spoon shape: width at the elbows and knees, snug at the shoulders and feet. You can draw a knee up, turn over, and sleep the way you actually sleep.

Thermo Gill vents along the top let you shed heat on a mild night without opening the bag and losing everything you have built up.

Down or synthetic here

650 fill-power down, 465 g in the Regular. Warmth for the weight, and a packed size synthetic cannot match.

Weight and packed size

1.03 kg minimum weight in the Regular, compressing to 6.7 litres at 27 x 20 cm.

Sizing

Regular fits to 168 cm and Long to 183 cm, with a Regular Wide as well. The Wide is the one we would take for side sleepers.

How it compares

Endless Promise means Nemo built it to come back and be remade at the end of its life instead of going to landfill. It costs you nothing and it is a better answer than a bag that becomes rubbish in a decade.

One habit doubles its life: store it loose. Keep it in the big cotton sack it arrives in and save the stuff sack for the trail. Down that lives compressed stops lofting, and loft is the whole product.
