Description

The Disco 15°F / -9°C Women's is Nemo's down backpacking bag for side sleepers: water-resistant down inside a recycled polyester ripstop shell, cut in the Classic Spoon shape so your knees and elbows have somewhere to go. It is part of Nemo's Endless Promise range, so at the end of a long life the bag goes back to Nemo to be recycled. This listing is the Regular Wide in Boreal green.

Who it's for

Women who sleep on their side, shift around through the night and are heading out on cold nights with the bag on their back. If a mummy bag leaves you feeling pinned in, the Disco lets you sleep the way you sleep at home.

Understanding the temperature rating

This is the 15°F / -9°C Disco, the warmer of the two women's Disco ratings; the figure in the name is the model, not the test result. Nemo rates this bag at -8 °C ISO comfort and -16 °C ISO limit. Comfort is the temperature at which a cold sleeper stays comfortable; limit is the lowest temperature at which a warm sleeper still does. Plan your trips on the -8 °C comfort figure, and leave yourself a margin if you know you sleep cold.

When the night is milder than forecast, open the Thermo Gill vents on the chest. Each has an inner and an outer zip with a draft-blocking layer between, so you let heat out without letting cold air straight in. The Blanket Fold collar does the same job at your neck: tuck it in to seal in warmth, push it out to cool down.

Shape and room

Classic Spoon means a wider cut at the shoulders, elbows and knees. Draw a knee up, roll from one side to the other, and the bag moves with you instead of twisting around you.

Down or synthetic here

Down: 960 g of 650 fill power, hydrophobic and PFAS-free, certified to the Responsible Down Standard. The baffles run vertically over your torso and horizontally below the waist, which keeps the down where it belongs. The hood and footbox are reinforced with waterproof, breathable material so condensation on the tent wall does not soak into the bag. The shell and lining are 20D recycled polyester ripstop with a C0 DWR.

Weight and packed size

Down is what lets a bag this warm squash down small enough to carry. The Regular Wide weighs 1.58 kg at minimum and 1.6 kg packed, compresses to 11.2 L, and packs to 32 x 22 cm in diameter. It comes with a compression sack for the trail and a mesh storage cube.

Sizing

This is the Regular Wide: it fits sleepers up to 168 cm, the same as the women's Regular, with more room across the body. Nemo gives the Regular Wide a 173 cm shoulder girth, 157 cm at the hip and 168 cm at the knee, against 152 cm at the shoulder for the Regular.

The zip is on the right, and two Discos with zips on opposite sides join into a double.

Looking after it

When it finally reaches the end of its life, Endless Promise means it goes back to Nemo for recycling instead of landfill.
