Description
Description
The Deuter Raincover II is a pack cover for 30 to 50 litre backpacks: PU-coated 70D polyamide with taped seams, a drawcord to pull it snug, and reflective detailing. At 90 g it lives in the bottom of your pack until the sky turns grey.
What it is
A fitted rain cover that pulls over the back and sides of your pack and cinches around the harness with a drawcord, keeping rain and spray off the pack fabric and zips. It measures 69 x 30 x 27 cm when fitted.
Who it's for
Walkers and trekkers carrying a 30-50 litre pack whose pack did not come with a cover, or whose cover has gone missing. It is the cover for an afternoon storm on the Main Range, a wet week on the Overland Track, or a tropical downpour on the Thorsborne Trail. Packs smaller than 30 litres or larger than 50 litres need a different size.
Key details
- Fits backpacks of 30-50 litres
- PU-coated 70D polyamide with taped seams
- Drawcord fit
- Reflective detailing
- 90 g, packs small
- Ara (dark blue-grey) or Koi (high-visibility orange)
How it compares
Koi is the orange: easy to spot on a track, in a car park at dusk, or by a search party. Ara is the subdued option that blends with most packs. Both share the same fabric and fit.
Looking after it
Shake it off and let it dry fully before packing it away, so the coating does not get sticky in a warm car. The fabric is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the cover is bluepass and Green Button certified.
