AC Lite 15 SL

The Deuter AC Lite 15 SL is a compact women's-fit daypack for walkers who like to move. A ventilated mesh back, a front zip that opens the whole pack and a 780 g carry make it the pack for a sticky morning climb in the Gold Coast hinterland or a quick summit before lunch.

Who it's for

Women and shorter-backed walkers heading out for a half or full day with a light kit. Deuter rate it five out of five for hiking, and the 2-5 kg recommended load is water, a shell, snacks and a first aid kit: Mount Tibrogargan's base loop, the Twin Falls circuit at Springbrook or a spring wander through the Grampians. The SL build gives it a shorter back and a harness shaped around a woman's frame.

Capacity, and what actually fits

15 litres takes a 2 L hydration bladder in its own sleeve, a rain jacket, lunch, a first aid kit and a head torch, with mesh side pockets for a drink bottle and sunscreen. The pack measures 44 x 28 x 20 cm, small enough to stay out of your way on a narrow track.

How it carries

The Aircomfort back tensions a mesh panel across a round-profile spring steel frame, so there is a gap between you and the load and air moves through it all day. The frame spreads the weight evenly, and breathable hip fins and a 2-way adjustable sternum strap keep the pack settled when you pick up the pace.

Fitting it

The AC Lite 15 SL comes in one size for back lengths of 38-48 cm, which Deuter match to walkers around 158-178 cm tall. If you land above 48 cm, the standard AC Lite range is the better fit; inside 38-48 cm, this is your pack.

Access and organisation

A central zip runs the full length of the front, so the main compartment opens wide and you can reach the bottom without unpacking, and a zip garage stops it creeping open on the move. A zipped top pocket keeps keys on their clip, a side pocket holds your phone where you can reach it, and there is a glasses stow loop on the shoulder strap.

Weight

Looking after it

The body combines 600D recycled polyester and 210D recycled polyamide with a DWR finish made without intentionally added PFAS, and the pack is bluepass and Green Button certified.
