Description

Chamois Buttr Coconut Anti-Chafe is a chamois cream built on certified organic coconut oil and shea butter, made in the USA by Chamois Butt'r. It is the first cream in the Chamois Butt'r range to use a certified organic ingredient, it is formulated to be gentle on sensitive skin, and it comes as a 235 mL tube or a box of ten 9 mL single-use sachets.

What it is for

Friction is what turns a great ride into a sore week. Chamois Buttr Coconut lays down a moisturising, slippery layer so your skin glides over the chamois instead of rubbing, whether that is a dawn loop through the Gold Coast hinterland, a humid gravel day in the Scenic Rim or a long weekend of riding in the Adelaide Hills. If your skin reacts to stronger creams, this is the gentle one in the range, and it still does the full job on long days.

Riders are not the only ones who chafe. Use it anywhere skin rubs on skin or on clothing: inner thighs on a long run, under the arms, along a bra strap or under a pack's hip belt on a big walk.

How to use it

  • Before you head out, spread a coin-sized dollop straight onto your skin or onto the chamois pad of your shorts.
  • One application usually covers a solid ride. On long days, slip a 9 mL sachet into your jersey pocket for a top-up.
  • Afterwards, soap and water washes it off your skin.

The tube lives in the kit bag and squeezes out clean, with no fingers in a jar. The sachets are for race day, travel and a spare for your riding mate.

What is in it

The two ingredients that define Coconut are certified organic coconut oil and shea butter, both there to moisturise and reduce friction. The formula is water-based and has no parabens, phthalates, gluten, artificial fragrances or artificial colours, and neither the cream nor its ingredients are tested on animals.

Looking after it

Coconut rinses out of cycling shorts in a normal hand or machine wash, and it will not damage your technical kit or your chamois. It does not expire, so a tube in the gear drawer is still good for the first ride of next season. We stock it for riders who want a gentler cream that still washes clean out of good knicks.
