Description
Description
The Lezyne Alloy Drive is a high-volume hand pump with a CNC-machined body, a compact overlapping handle and a gloss black finish. The hose that tucks inside the handle has a Presta end, a Schrader end and a valve core tool built in, so the pump does a little more than just put air back in.
Who it's for
Trail and gravel riders on wide tyres who want a solid metal pump on the frame. The valve core tool earns its keep for anyone running tubeless: when sealant gums up a valve on the side of the track at Nerang or in the Pine Forest at Stromlo, you can pull the core, clear it and keep riding.
Pressure and volume
The Alloy Drive is built for volume rather than very high pressure, with an overlapping handle that keeps the pump short while giving a long, efficient stroke. It is rated to 90 psi (6.2 bar), plenty for the pressures mountain bike and gravel tyres run at.
- Small: 114 g, 190 x 32.4 x 32.4 mm
- Medium: 130.7 g, 235 x 32.4 x 32.4 mm
The Small slips into a tighter frame triangle or a pack; the Medium moves more air with each stroke and suits a pump that lives on the bike.
Valve compatibility
Unscrew the ABS Flex Hose from the handle, thread the Presta or Schrader end onto your opened valve and the other end onto the pump, then inflate. On Presta, a press of the ABS button bleeds the hose so it comes off without pulling the valve core loose. On Schrader, the same button lets you back the pressure off a touch. The integrated valve core tool sits on the hose, so it is always with the pump.
Looking after it
Keep the hose stored in the handle between uses and wipe the pump down after wet or dusty rides. The Composite Matrix frame mount included with the pump keeps it on the bike and out of your pockets.
