Description
XTM Performance Active200 men's thermal pants are a full-length merino base layer, knitted at 200 gsm from 100% Australian merino wool with a fine 18.5 micron fibre. Regular fit, gusseted crotch, flatlock seams and a soft jacquard waistband, in men's sizes S to 3XL. Midweight warmth for snow trips, winter walks and cold mornings at camp.
Who it's for
Blokes who want one pair of thermals that covers the whole cold season. Under ski pants at Mount Hotham, under walking trousers on a July lap of the Main Range, in the sleeping bag on a frosty night in the Grampians, or under jeans on the sideline at Saturday sport. 200 gsm is the middle of the merino range: warm enough to stand around in, light enough to keep moving in.
Merino regulates temperature and breathes, so you stay comfortable on the climb and again when you stop for lunch.
Fit and layering
Regular fit: neither slim nor relaxed, following the shape of the body with ease added for movement. They sit close enough to layer cleanly under a shell or ski pant, with enough room that they never feel like compression tights. The inleg is 72 cm on a size L, finishing at the ankle on a 184 cm model.

Fabric and construction
100% Australian merino wool at 200 gsm, spun from 18.5 micron fibre. At that fineness the wool is soft against bare skin, so you can wear these all day and sleep in them too. The pants are Woolmark certified and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, the wool is 100% Responsible Wool Standard certified, and the finished garment is a certified carbon neutral product.
The gusset panel takes the strain off the centre seam when you are high-stepping over a log or dropping into a squat to light the stove.
Packability and weight
Average weight is 250 g a pair. Roll them into the bottom of a pack and you have a warm, dry layer waiting when the sun drops.
Care
Wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry in the shade. Merino shrugs off odour, so on a trip you can air them overnight and wear them again the next day.
