Description
The USWE Action Camera Harness is a 0.2 kg chest mount for GoPro and other action cameras, built for USWE hydration packs with the No Dancing Monkey (NDM 1) harness. It uses the pack's own bounce-free harness to hold the camera, so you get chest-height footage without a separate chest rig strapped over the top of your pack.
Who it's for
Mountain bikers, enduro riders and dirt bike riders who already run a USWE pack and want point-of-view footage from the chest. A chest camera sits lower and steadier than a helmet camera, keeps the bars and front wheel in the frame, and shows the trail the way you see it. It suits a race weekend at Nerang or Toowoomba as well as a day session on the local trails.
Which USWE packs it fits
The harness fits USWE packs with the NDM 1 harness system:
- MOTO Hydro
- MTB Hydro
- Airborne
- Ranger
- Vertical
- Patriot
- Outlander (not the Outlander PRO)
It does not fit the Race 2.0, and it is made for USWE packs only. This is the M-XL size, matching the M-XL harness on those packs. It works with USWE's Organizer Pocket, Gel Fuel Rack, Phone Pocket and Chest Pocket, so you can keep a snack pocket on the harness alongside the camera.
Fitting it
Thread the straps through the pack's NDM shoulder harness in place of the front strap, press the Velcro down, and mount your camera. The Velcro straps let you tilt the camera angle with the pack on, so you can dial in the shot at the trailhead and tweak it at the top of the next climb. The harness sits on your chest straps and leaves the hydration tube free, so you drink as you normally would.
Mounting your camera
A standard GoPro-style two-prong mount sits at the centre of the harness. GoPro cameras fit straight on; other action cameras need their own GoPro-pattern adaptor, which is not included. USWE make the harness to fit over riding gear and body armour; if you run bulky armour, go up a size in the pack harness.
