Revivex Wetsuit and Drysuit Shampoo

Gear Aid Revivex Wetsuit and Drysuit Shampoo is a concentrated wash for neoprene that cleans and conditions in one go. Over time, salt and chlorine degrade neoprene, and organic residues like algae and bacteria build up in it. A proper wash every so often, instead of a hose-off and a hang on the clothesline, keeps an expensive suit supple and smelling fresh. One 296 ml pouch is enough for 10 hand washes.

It washes out salt, chlorine and odour without harming the neoprene, and the 2-in-1 formula conditions the neoprene to keep it supple. For surfers on the Gold Coast or swimmers doing laps in a chlorinated pool through winter, salt and chlorine are exactly what it is made to wash out.

How to use it

1. Fill a tub, laundry sink or bathtub with clean water.
2. Pour in a share of the pouch. A full pouch is good for 10 washes, so about a tenth for one suit.
3. Turn the suit inside out and work it through the water with your hands, pressing the soapy water through the neoprene.
4. Rinse well in fresh water and hang it to dry out of the sun.

Hand wash only. Gear Aid gives no set method beyond hand washing; the steps above are our usual routine. The formula is freeze-thaw stable, so a pouch left in a cold shed over winter is still good to use. It is made in the USA.

Looking after neoprene

Between washes, a rinse in fresh water after every session goes a long way. Dry suits inside out first, then right way out, on a wide hanger rather than a peg line, and keep them out of direct sun.
