Description

The USWE MTB Hydro is for riders who want water on their back and nothing moving around up there. A four-point harness clamps the pack to your torso so it stays put when the trail turns rough, and you choose between a lean 3 litre pack and a 9 litre pack with room for a layer and a pump. We stock it because a pack that bounces is a pack you stop wearing, and this one is built to sit still.

Who it's for

Mountain bike and gravel riders. The 3 L suits quicker rides where you want two litres of water, a spare tube, a multi-tool and a snack, and not much else. The 9 L is for longer days in the saddle: three litres of water plus a packable jacket, a mini pump and the spares you would rather have with you when you are a long way from the car.

Capacity and fit

The two sizes share the harness and the fit. What changes is the load:

  • 3 L: 3 litres of total volume with a 2.0 L Elite bladder included. 31 x 16 x 8 cm, and 430 g without the bladder (590 g with it).
  • 9 L: 9 litres of total volume with a 3.0 L Elite bladder included. 42 x 19 x 12 cm, and 590 g without the bladder (770 g with it). Zipped compartments, a tool pocket, and external straps for a jacket or armour.

Both sizes are unisex and fit chests from 84 to 110 cm. The No Dancing Monkey 1.2 harness pairs elastic straps that give as you breathe with a technical NDM buckle at the centre of your chest, so you can pull it snug without feeling squeezed on a climb. Shoulder straps are ventilated and the back panel is air-vented to keep you cooler under load.

The 3 L has a detachable front organiser pocket for tools and food.

Drinking and refilling

Both bladders are HydraPak-made Elite reservoirs with a Plug-n-Play coupling. The hose unclips at the bladder, so a refill does not mean wrestling the whole tube out of the harness, and on the 3 L you can route the hose to whichever shoulder feels natural. The wide slide-top opening makes filling quick and leaves the bladder easy to rinse and dry. If you want more within reach, both sizes take USWE's NDM 1 phone, chest and organiser pockets on the harness.

Detachable Multi Pocket
The total pack volume is 3 liters but can easily be transformed into 2 liters by removing the external multi-pocket where you carry your spare tube, multi-tool and/or rain jacket. It’s simply your race mode that will decide if you go light or superlight for the day. For visibility there's an extra reflective point for safety.
