Description
The Komperdell Explorer Zero Compact Trekking Poles are engineered for outdoor enthusiasts who demand performance in both summer and winter conditions. Equipped with an ultralight foam grip with an extended grip zone, this compact version of the Explorer Zero offers exceptional comfort and adaptability, reducing hand fatigue on steep ascents and descents.
The aluminium pole in Komperdell's Zero line, and the one to buy if you want the Zero-series grip, clamps and basket system without paying for carbon. 7075-T6 is aircraft-grade alloy - it is what you want in a pole that is going to get treated like a tool.
7075-T6, and why the number matters
Not all aluminium is the same. 7075-T6 is one of the strongest alloys used in poles, which is how Komperdell keep the section diameters down to 18/16/14 mm without the shaft feeling whippy. It bends before it breaks, which on a remote walk is exactly the failure mode you want.
Zero-series fittings throughout
Same Powerlock 3.0 forged aluminium clamps as the carbon poles, same vario basket system, same extended grip zone. The alloy shaft is the only thing that changes.
The one to be careless with
This is the pair you lend out, throw in the ute and jam into a rock crack getting up a creek bank without a second thought. For a lot of walking in Australia that is worth more than the grams.
Weight
446 g the pair (223 g per pole).
