Description

This is the lightest pole in Komperdell's range, and it earns that by being the short one. Same ultralight carbon and same Powerlock 3.0 clamps as the standard Ultra Zero, in a 90-120 cm band that packs down to 57 cm.

The 90-120 cm band

90 to 120 cm is the right range for shorter walkers, for anyone who runs their poles short by preference, and for steep ground where you want the pole tucked in close on a climb. If your usual walking length is above 120 cm, take the standard Carbon Ultra Zero instead - same pole, longer band.

Ten centimetres shorter in the pack

57 cm packed against 67 cm for the standard version. That is the difference between a pole that sticks up past your head on a daypack and one that does not, and it makes them far easier to stash for a scramble or a flight.

Nothing given up to get there

The grip is the same Trek Pro 280 foam cork with an extended grip zone, the strap is the same Air Padded one, and the clamps are the same forged aluminium Powerlock 3.0. This is the full-fat pole in a shorter package.

How much do they weigh - is that per pole or the pair?
350 g for the pair, and 175 g per pole if you are matching against a spec sheet.

How is this different from the standard Carbon Ultra Zero?
Shorter adjustment band (90-120 cm against 105-140 cm) and a smaller packed size (57 cm against 67 cm), which makes it lighter. Everything else is the same.

Which one should I buy?
Work out your walking length - elbow at 90 degrees, floor to hand. If it lands under about 118 cm, the Compact is the better pole and the lighter one. Above that, take the standard Ultra Zero.

How small do they pack?
57 cm, which will sit on the side of a daypack without towering over it.

Can I change the baskets?
Yes - the vario system swaps summer and winter baskets by hand.
