Description

FKT stands for fastest known time, and the whole pole is built around not losing seconds. The mesh glove strap stays on your hand and clips to the pole magnetically, so you drop the poles to take a drink or scramble a step and snap back in without threading a strap.

The strap is the point

On a normal pole, coming out of the straps and getting back in is the slow part. Here the glove stays on you. The pole clicks in when you bring your hand back to it and releases with a button press. If you run with poles, or you are on a long fastpacking day with a lot of gate-and-scramble sections, this is the feature you will notice every single hour.

Fixed length, and why racers choose it

There is no adjustment mechanism, which means no clamp to slip, fewer parts and less weight in the shaft. You pick your length once and the pole is simply that length forever, ready the instant it unfolds. Pick your size from the sizing guide below and it is done.

Full carbon, extended grip

Full carbon shafts with an extended EVA foam grip, so you can choke down on a steep pinch without changing the strap. The extended grip is what makes a fixed-length pole workable on climbs.

FAQ's

How much do they weigh - is that per pole or the pair?
A pair runs 294 g to 324 g depending on length, with the full size-by-size table above. Per pole that is 147-162 g.

How do I choose the length if they do not adjust?
Stand with your elbow at 90 degrees and measure floor to hand. Round to the nearest size we stock. If you are between sizes and spend more time climbing than descending, take the shorter one.

How fast do they really deploy?
Shake to unfold, the speed cone seats the sections, and the glove clicks on magnetically. You are moving again in a couple of seconds without looking down.

Can I use them for normal hiking?
Absolutely. Fixed-length poles are a pleasure to walk with once you have your number, and these are the lightest way to carry a pair. If you want to change length through the day, the Distance Carbon FLZ is the adjustable sibling.

What packs down smallest?
35 cm at 105 cm through to 42 cm at 130 cm. They will sit inside a running vest pole sleeve at any size.
