Detour Essentials Camp Kitchen Kit - 5L Pot Set
Description
Description
The Sea to Summit Detour Essentials Camp Kitchen Kit is a group-size cook set that folds down flat: a collapsible 5 L stainless steel pot, a folding silicone colander and two cutting boards. It brings home-kitchen cooking to a campsite and packs into a space not much thicker than a chopping board.
Who it's for
Families, groups and anyone cooking for a crowd at a campground or base camp. A pot of pasta for the whole family at a national park campground, a big curry on a long weekend at the beach, spuds boiled and drained for a camp barbecue. We stock it for campers who want to cook real meals at camp with gear that behaves like the cookware at home.
Capacity and what it cooks
Five litres is a family-size pot. It handles pasta, rice, stews, soups and corn on the cob for a group, with room to stir. The colander drains pasta and vegetables and rinses salad, and the two cutting boards give two people somewhere to chop at once.
- Collapsible 5 L pot with lid and two Click Safe handles
- Collapsible colander in silicone rubber
- Two cutting boards in polypropylene
Materials and heat
The pot is 304 stainless steel with a silicone rubber folding wall. Its three-ply base spreads heat evenly across the bottom, so a big pot of stew simmers without catching in the middle. It works on gas, induction and radiant electric stoves, which means the same pot goes from a camp stove to a portable induction cooktop to the kitchen at home.
By weight the kit is 61% 304 stainless steel, 19.8% polypropylene, 19% silicone and 0.2% nylon. The silicone is BPA-free and certified to EU and FDA food standards, and the cookware is non-PFAS.
Packing and nesting
The pot wall folds down, the colander collapses and nests inside with the cutting boards, the lid goes on top and the two handles flip over to lock it. The whole kit packs to 27 x 24.7 x 6.9 cm and weighs 1681.4 g, and it stays quiet in the camp kitchen box because everything is held in place.
Handles and safety
Two stainless steel Click Safe handles lock onto the pot with an audible click, so you can carry a full pot of pasta water with a hand on each side and pour from it with control. They fit other Detour pots as well. Cook on a stove, not an open fire.
Cleaning
The wide curve between the pot's base and wall matches the shape of Sea to Summit utensils, so a spoon or spatula gets into the corner and cleaning up is quick. The colander and cutting boards go in the dishwasher. Wash the pot by hand, because its handle attachment points are hard anodised and dishwasher detergent damages them.
