1. NEMO Dagger OSMO vs Dragonfly
When comparing the Nemo Dagger Osmo vs the Nemo Dragonfly there is no simple answer for which one is better or worse. Weight - The Dagger when packed has a total weight of 1.52 kgs compared with the Dragonfly at 1.2 kgs when packed. This makes the Nemo Dagger 340 grams heavier than the Dragonfly when packed down, but as a result, it does offer greater floor and vestibule size for more space and added comfort during use. Durability - The Dagger is made of more durable fabric that wears better over time - this also contributes to its greater weight when compared to the Dragonfly. Occupancy - If you are seeking a three-person tent, then the Nemo Dagger is the ideal choice. Currently, the Dragonfly only offers a one-person or two-person option. Waterproofing - While the fly fabrics of both tents are equally waterproof, the flooring material of the Dagger is thicker (300mm compared to 1200mm) making for a more water-resistant outcome. Dimensions - As mentioned above, the Dagger offers slightly more height and floor space than the Dragonfly. The Dagger delivers 2.9 SQM of floor space and a peak height of 42 inches, whereas the Dragonfly offers 2.7 SQM floor space and an inch less peak height at 41 inches. Material - Perhaps the most defining feature aside from the size is that the Dagger is made using Nemo’s patented OSMO fabric, which offers several added positives over that of the Dragonfly which uses their Ripstop Nylon fabric.

2. What material is OSMO?
OSMO fabric is unique to Nemo and offers a host of exceptional benefits. OSMO has advanced water repellency which lasts up to four times longer than other comparable options. OSMO has three times less stretch when wet. This means reduced sag and better performance in windy and rainy conditions for optimal comfort. OSMO is made using 100% recycled yarns for a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach. All OSMO fabrics are completely PFC and PFAS-free - meeting all fire retardancy standards without the use of harmful added chemicals. The fabric is ultra-lightweight without compromising on durability and functionality.

3. Do NEMO Dagger tents have a lifetime warranty?
No, while a lifetime warranty is often honoured overseas, in Australia, all Nemo products come with a 2-year warranty that covers any manufacturing defects affecting usage. The warranty doesn’t cover general wear and tear, improper use or maintenance, misuse, or neglect. If you need to make a warranty claim, Nemo is known for handling these quickly and efficiently.

Is the Nemo Dagger OSMO freestanding?
Yes, the Dagger OSMO is fully freestanding. It stands without being pegged out, which means it can be pitched on rock platforms, wooden tent decks and hard summer ground, and moved after it is up. Staking it out still tensions the vestibules properly.

How much does the Nemo Dagger weigh?
Minimum weight is 1.52 kg for the 2P and 1.75 kg for the 3P. Packed weight, including stakes, guylines and the Divvy Cube stuff sack, is 1.86 kg and 2.1 kg. Split between two walkers, the 2P is under a kilogram each.

What is the difference between the Nemo Dagger, Dragonfly and Hornet?
All three are three-season OSMO tents. Hornet is the lightest and semi-freestanding. Dragonfly is freestanding with moderate space. Dagger is freestanding and the roomiest, with 106 cm peak height and 1.1 sq m vestibules, at the cost of a few hundred grams.

How big are the Dagger's vestibules?
Each vestibule is about 1.1 sq m, and there are two. That is noticeably larger than the Dragonfly at roughly 0.9 sq m and the Hornet at about 0.7 sq m. It is enough to keep two packs and boots out of the rain, and to cook under in poor weather with the door propped.

Should two people buy the 2P or the 3P Dagger?
The 2P gives 2.9 sq m of floor and suits two walkers packing light. The 3P adds a square metre for 230 g, which is the version to choose if you want packs inside the tent, extra room in bad weather, or you are sharing with a dog.

Is the Dagger suitable for alpine or winter camping?
The Dagger is a three-season tent with a lightweight pole structure. It handles rain, wind and cold nights, but sustained high wind or snow loading is outside what it is built for. For genuine winter use, a four-season tent with a heavier frame is the right tool.
