Description
The ABUS Combiflex TravelGuard is a pocket-sized combination cable lock for helmets, bags, skis and prams. The ABUS Combiflex TravelGuard has a 45 cm cable with a solid steel core that forms an adjustable loop, a 3-digit code you set yourself, and weighs 80 g. It comes in black, red and yellow.
What it is
A small keyless travel lock that pulls tight round whatever you need to leave for a few minutes. Thread the cable through your helmet vents and round the bars, or through a backpack strap and a chair leg, then cinch the loop down so it cannot be slipped off.
Who it's for
Riders who stop for coffee halfway round a loop and do not want to carry their helmet inside. Families with a pram parked outside the café. Anyone off the ski lift at Thredbo or Falls Creek who wants their skis or snowboard still on the rack after lunch. It is the lock for deterring an opportunist on a short stop; the bike itself still wants a proper bike lock.
Key details
- 45 cm cable, 4 mm thick, 80 g. Light enough to live in a jersey pocket or a hip pack.
- Solid steel core inside the cable.
- Your own 3-digit code. Set it and change it yourself; there is no key to lose on the trip.
- Adjustable loop. The cable feeds back through the lock body, so it closes down snug round a thin strap or opens up round a ski pair.
- Three colours. Black, red or yellow, so it is easy to spot in the bottom of a bag.
Looking after it
Brush grit and snow out of the dials after a day out and let it dry before it goes back in the pack. Keep a note of your code at home.
