Description

Lash to kayaks, bikes and 4WDs with confidence, or add a Dry Bag Sling for comfortable hands-free carrying. Big River Dry Bags are a durable and abrasion resistant option that uses a strong 420D nylon fabric. If your idea of outdoor recreation involves rugged water sports like kayaking, canoeing, rafting, or motorcycle touring, they are the perfect storage bags to keep your gear dry. A white interior laminate affords greater visibility, and lash loops allow secure stacking or attachment to watercraft, motorcycles and other equipment. The hypalon non-wicking roll-top closure keeps water out, and the Field Repair Buckles can be replaced in seconds with just a Philips screwdriver. It also was designed with an oval base to save space when packing and prevent it from rolling away.

FAQ's

Is this dry bag waterproof?
The body of the dry bag is waterproof (10,000 mm hydrostatic head). However, avoid submersion since water can seep through the roll-top closure of any dry bag.

Is this dry bag easy to transport?
Yes. Rolled up, this dry bag takes up very little space. In use, multiple lash points and double ‘D’-Rings offer plenty of attachment points for a carry strap, and a Dry Bag Sling is available for sizes 5L – 35L

Is this dry bag suitable for paddle sports?
Absolutely. The tough 420 D nylon ripstop face fabric is durable and UV resistant. Just apply reasonable caution in sharp and abrasive environments.

How do you close a roll-top dry bag properly?
Fold the top over at least three times, pressing the air out as you go, then clip the buckle. Fewer than three folds and it will not seal. A bag filled to the brim cannot be rolled properly and will leak.

Is the Big River Dry Bag fully waterproof?
The Big River seals against splash, spray, rain and brief immersion when rolled correctly, but it is not a submersion-rated case. If it goes overboard and stays under, treat the contents as at risk.

What is the difference between the Big River and a lightweight dry bag?
Toughness. The Big River uses 420D TPU-laminated nylon for abrasion resistance, made to be lashed outside a kayak or bike. Lightweight dry bags are for keeping things separated inside a pack, and weigh far less.

What size dry bag should I buy?
Slightly larger than the contents, because a roll-top needs three folds of spare fabric at the top to seal. As a guide, 5 L takes a camera and jacket, 13 L a sleeping bag, and larger sizes a full kit.

Can you lash a Big River bag to a kayak or bike?
Yes, and that is what it is built for. The 420D fabric resists the abrasion of being strapped to a deck or rack and dragged across rock and gravel, which lighter dry bags do not survive.
