Description
Description
The Mammut 9.5 Crag Classic Rope Duodess is a 9.5 mm polyamide single rope with an untreated Classic finish and one feature you notice every session: a Duodess centre mark that Mammut describes as durable and always visible. It comes in Blue-White, in 60, 70 or 80 m.
Who it's for
Sport climbers and gym regulars. Mammut gives the 9.5 Crag Classic a full six out of six for sport climbing, and its Classic ropes are the untreated all-rounders built for indoor walls and rock on fine days, which also makes this a sound first rope of your own. Think Thursday laps at the gym, then a Saturday on the bolts at Nowra or in the Blue Mountains.
Diameter and what it suits
At 9.5 mm the Crag Classic Duodess is certified as a single rope, so it does the whole job on its own, lead or top-rope. Mammut describes its handling as excellent and its balance of diameter, weight and durability as ideal, whether you are climbing indoors or on trad routes.
Handling and impact force
- Impact force: 8.2 kN
- Stretch on first fall: 33%
- Static elongation: 7.5%
- Sheath proportion: 42%
Impact force is the peak force recorded in the standard UIAA drop test; a lower figure means a softer catch. The sheath makes up 42% of the rope.
The Duodess middle
Mammut describes the Duodess centre mark as durable, always visible and abrasion-resistant, so the halfway point is easy to find. The rope also arrives packed so it is tangle-free and ready to climb, with no uncoiling session before the first route.
Dry treatment
None. The Crag Classic Duodess is an untreated, PFC-free Classic rope, which Mammut pitches at the climbing gym and at rock climbing in good weather.
Fall rating
The 9.5 Crag Classic Rope Duodess holds 6 UIAA falls with an 80 kg mass as a single rope, and conforms to EN 892:2012 + A3:2023 for dynamic mountaineering ropes.
Length and weight
All three lengths weigh 58 g per metre. We stock 60 m, 70 m and 80 m, all in the same Blue-White colourway.
