Mammut 10.0 Performance Static Rope 200m

The Mammut 10.0 Performance Static Rope is a 10 mm polyamide static rope in a 200 m length: tough, hard-wearing and with very little stretch. It is the rope for jobs where the line should hold still under load, from fixing a line to hauling a bag, and it meets EN 1891 Type A.

Who it's for

Climbers, guides, clubs and rigging crews who need a low-stretch line: fixed ropes on approaches, hauling on big walls, abseil lines, rigging top-rope anchors over an edge, or a club rope that gets used every week. Buying 200 m lets you cut it to the lengths your group actually uses.

Belaying a leader, or anything where a climber can take a real fall onto the rope, calls for a dynamic climbing rope. The 10.0 Performance Static is built for everything around that.

Diameter and what it suits

At 10 mm the Performance Static gives a firm, easy-to-grip line that sits well in descenders and ascenders made for 10 mm static rope. The sheath makes up 37% of the rope, which is what takes the abrasion when the rope runs over rock edges and railings.

Low stretch is the point. Under body weight the rope barely gives, so you are not bouncing on a jumar or losing height on an abseil line, and a haul bag comes up instead of the rope soaking up each pull.

Length and weight

The rope weighs 66 g per metre and comes as a 200 m length in white/red or yellow/black. Two colours make it easy to tell two lines apart when you rig them side by side.

Looking after it

Protect the rope at every edge it runs over, keep it out of the sun and away from chemicals in storage, and when you cut it, seal the ends with heat so the sheath and core stay together. Check the sheath by hand for glazing, cuts or core showing through before each use.
