Pocket Towel

The Sea to Summit Pocket Towel is a lightweight microfibre towel in 100% recycled polyester with a silky, smooth finish. It soaks up three times its own weight in water, dries quickly, and packs into a zippered EVA case small enough, in the Small size, to live in a jacket pocket.

Who it's for

Walkers, paddlers and travellers who count every gram and every centimetre of pack space. It is the towel for a dip in a creek on the Larapinta, a quick wash at a hut on the Overland Track, a gym bag, or a carry-on that has no room for a bath towel. Of Sea to Summit's four towel types, the Pocket Towel is the super-light one with the silkiest finish. If you want a plush, terry-loop feel, the heavier Tek Towel is the one we point you to.

Size and absorbency

• Small: 80 x 40 cm, 50 g. A face and hands towel, or a sweat towel for the pack lid.
• Medium: 100 x 50 cm, 80 g. Enough to dry off after a swim if you are travelling light.
• Large: 120 x 60 cm, 112 g. Dries a whole adult after a shower or swim.
• X-Large: 150 x 75 cm, 175 g. Big enough to wrap around yourself at the beach or a campground shower.

Every size holds three times its weight in water. Pat yourself dry rather than rubbing, wring it out, and go again.

Drying time and packed size

The fine microfibre gives up water quickly once it is wrung out. Snap the press-stud loop around a guy line, a pack strap or a branch and let the breeze do the rest; no hook or peg needed.

Each towel comes in its own soft, zippered EVA case:

• Small: 11 x 6 x 3 cm, 68 g in the case.
• Medium: 14 x 7 x 4 cm, 100 g in the case.
• Large: 15.5 x 7.5 x 4 cm, 144 g in the case.
• X-Large: 20 x 8 x 5 cm, 220 g in the case.

Odour and washing

Throw it in the washing machine. The dye is not colour-fast, so wash it on its own for the first few loads, then with like colours after that. Dry it fully before it goes back into the case and it will stay fresh between trips. We stock it in Sage Green, Moonlight Blue, Desert Brown and Beluga.
